Bedtime Terza Rima for Louis

Always first on the list,

Summertime, the lullaby

We irreverently twist.

To Farty Time, the funny song before we try

To close our eyes and stop our craving

For one more game; then down we lie.

Number Two: Ain’t Misbehavin’

And after that My Blue Heaven.

Then Over the Rainbow I’ll be braving,

Followed by Our House, then revving

Into Happy Together, just like we’ll be.

I hope you sleep by number seven:

Amazing Grace or some like reverie.

If by then you’re still awake,

I’ll try My Country ‘Tis of Thee.

And if you last past number eight,

Your lids still fluttering like wings,

Why, then, I’ll simply have to wait:

Mockingbird, 500 Miles, Down in the Valley where my throat stings.

So it goes when the fat lady sings.

Marsha is brilliant. She is a writer and poet, a musician, a composer and lyricist and a wonderful cartoonist. She is an incredible storyteller and could enthrall and enchant a room with something as simple as recounting her day.
